Giving to Alagappa University

The founder, Padma Bhusan Dr.RM.Alagappa Chettiar, has given everything (including his dwelling house) for the cause of Education. His philanthropic contributions made during 1950`s has resulted into the formation of Alagappa University in 1985.

University academic/admin unit(s) has general funding needs. Support is required for Student welfare, Faculty development, Enrich academic programmes, Conduct extension activities, Library, Infrastructure support etc. Unrestricted giving (donation / gift / others) to the University provide vital support for the University’s most urgent priorities. One can designate the giving close to heart.   1. Dr.V.Sp.Manickam, former Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University, and a native of Karaikudi, donated 4600 books to the Central Library as decreed in the will.
  2. Dr.Roya.Chokkalingam, Tamil savant, donated large numbers of rare books and bound volumes of Journals published long back.
  3. Thiru Valliappa Chettiar of Karaikudi donated books on Aurobindo.
  4. University Entrance Arch (Near Education Campus) was donated by Canara Bank.

  6. Thiru.P.Chidambaram, Former Finance Minister, donated partial fund in the construction of LCTL Auditorium.

  9. Battery-operated Electric Vehicle Costing Rs. 5.25 Lakhs was donated by Canara Bank Karaikudi Branch under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scheme on 21.09.2023
  10. Battery-operated Electric Vehicle Costing Rs. 5.50 Lakhs was donated by ICICI Bank / Foundation to the University Special School for Person with Disability (ID & Autism) under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scheme on 03.11.2023
